What can we inquire into?
Under the Public Service Act and Parliamentary Service Act, one of our powers is to inquire into an APS action or a Parliamentary Service action at the request of the Public Service Minister or the Presiding Officers (the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives), and to report back to the Minister or Presiding Officers on the results of the inquiry.
Australian Public Service actions or Parliamentary Service actions are actions, or refusals or failures to act, by a person in the capacity of a Secretary or Agency Head, or Australian Public Service or Parliamentary Service employee.
